There is a train from Malaga airport terminating at Fuengirola.Benalmadena is about half way along the line and takes about 20 minutes. It's a bit of a trek to the station, maybe 10 mins walk, but I'm not sure how extensive works at the airport will affect this. Follow the "train" sign. You will need to get a ticket from the machine before you go up to the platform which is the one on the airport side. It's very cheap and you will need euro coins. I think trains run about every half hour, but I don't know what time they stop running (quite late). If you arrive at some ungodly time at night, a taxi will get you there in 25 minutes at about 30 euros. Ed.

The nearest station to Benalmadena is Arroyo del Miel. trains run every 30 minutes between 05:44 and 22:44. Cost about €1.65

The train service operates between Malaga airport and city centre every 30 minutes. The train station is five minutes walk from the arrivals hall (llegados) at Malaga airport. Go up one floor to departures (salidas), take any exit and follow the Ferrocarril signs to the right. You can buy a ticket on the train. No problem.Takes about 15 minutes.Dont take a taxi as they are expensive, though luggage and numbers might make a taxi handier.

Benalmadena covers quite a large area and most of it is hilly, the train station is situated in Arroyo del la Miel and unless you are actually staying in the Gamonal area I would give the train a miss as most of the hotels are a good trek from the station. If you email me with the name of your hotel or give more info here I can be of more help to you as I know the area very well
