Stayed a couple of nights in Gerona in March 2006. Very old town with some great cafe's and bars in the centre. There is a square, surrounded by tapas bars and restaurants, which is approx. the centre of the city. It has a medieval type feel to it.Can't remember the name but it's on the tourist map. Definately Worth a visit . The hotel receptionist got our cigs for us as there are limited outlets for them in the city itself. Very friendly people everywhere we went. You can get a bus to Barcelona for a few quid and it takes about an hour or so.

We didn't stay there, we stayed in Barcelona, and day-tripped there. It is a beautiful little city with a wonderful medieval center. Very nice, because it's so small, compared to most of the places I've been. Great people (but that goes without saying in all of Spain), and I just loved things like stopping in a café that was in a building over 500 years old.
(American, you know, that sort of thing really gets to me).
