Going to Madrid from Cordoba,Spain?

Hi.My friends and I, we are planning to go to Spain this coming winter. We'll arrive in Madrid. Then we are going straight to Granada, spend 2nights and then to Cordoba then back to Madrid. But the thing is,I couldn't find any bus that goes to Madrid from Cordoba.I've search in ALSA website. The only one I can find is train. But it's a bit expensive. We are still students so we want to have the cheapest transportation that's available. So anyone can help us?Is there really no bus from Cordoba to Madrid? If there is,can u give me the name of the company? And form Madrid Airport to Madrid Est Sur,is it far?How can we get there? Is it a bus station?Because we are going to take a bus there to Granada.Thanx a lot for ur help..=D

You do have bus from Cordoba to Madrid. Just looked in the wrong company. Secorbus/Socibus makes 6 trips a day from Cordoba to Madrid. It costs 14€ and takes almost 5 hours. Some buses have toilet. They also play a movie (in Spanish) but you have to buy the headphones unless you use your own ones. You can buy the tickets through Internet but you can also buy them in Madrid Sur Bus station before your trip to Granada (Just make clear you just want one way from Cordoba to Madrid in the Secorbus ticket office there). In some dates and hours it can be very difficult to find seats (mainly sundays when going from Cordoba to Madrid)

From Madrid Airport to Estacion Sur the cheapest way to do it is by metro (underground). It will cost you 2€ (single ticket + airport fee) and you will need to change from line 8 to line 6 at "Nuevos Ministerios" and then, hop off at "Mendez Alvaro". This station is right under Estacion Sur so you don't need to go outside. Just check the underground map.

I was born in Cordoba and lived for many years in Madrid so if you need anything else you're free to contact me. Enjoy your trip to Spain!

If you go to your local Barnes and Noble Book store or any big bookstore you can find many books on travel. Two authors come to mind. One is Rick Stevens and the other is Fordor, I think that is the name. I have been to Spain because I was stationed there. It is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly. In Madrid you must visit the art museum "The Prada". It is beautiful. In Granada you should go see the "La Humbra". If you ski take a trip to the Sierra Mountains. They even have a place where if you don't ski you can have fun in the snow. But you want to first get a book from the bookstore and research it. The travel book usually list good restaurants, good hotels and transportation. Remember to also get money exchanged in the United States for the Euro. My parents came to visit me in Spain and forgot to do that. They went about 3 hours of driving with nothing to eat because alot of the little bars do not take the dollar. Hope you enjoy your trip and hope I was some help.

On arrival Madrid contact the subway office in Terminal 2 or 4. They will give you the information, how to go by METRO (name of the subway) to the bus terminal. The bus company from Cordoba to Madrid you will most probably find on the pages of Cordoba www.cordoba.es under transporte público (I didn´t test it!). Check also the pages of the airlines on the route Cordoba-Madrid, most probably www.iberia.es, www.spanair.com and www.aireuropa.com. They offer tickets from 29 € on upwards.
I hope I could be of some help and Bienvenidos a Espña!
