There is very little to actually do in Marbella. You can go to the beach, explore the little town and go to Puerto Banus. A week is PLENTY of time for Marbella. If you were to get a book for all of Spain you would find very little info about Marbella. There is an Insight guide to Marbella but it's hard to find. You could also try to the Eyewitness Top 10 Andalucia + Costa del Sol book, which is easier to find and available cheap on Amazon. I would suggest arranging a day trip to Tangiers through your hotel. Try to avoid booking with Andalucia Tours, as they're not a great company to go with. |

Go to one of the tourist offices (Junta de Andalucia) where you can get lots of info & maps. The main store is called 'El Cortes Ingles'. well worth a visit for perfumes etc. Orange Square in the old town is worth a nightime visit, nice restaurants etc. Main attraction is Puerto Banus and the exotic marina, night clubs & pricey restaurants. Buzzes at night. For hotels, get an 'Andalucia Rough Guide' from your bookstore. Full of into: maps, hotels & tourist info. You can catch a bus DIRECT from the airport; takes 45 minutes & cheap. Not worth hiring a car if you are going to stay only in Marbella. Parking is a nightmare. Good luck. Eddie |

I like the "Lonley Planet" series. Don't know if they have one for Marbella though. Don't even know where that is. |

You will never go wrong with the Lonely Planets Guide book.

I have one for almost every country I have been to....and they are very informative... |

You will probably pick up a guide just at the airport. If not just go to the tourist information there and they will help you. Good shopping there. Go to Puerta Banus, at night, amazing, where all the millionaires hang out, their boats cars etc. There's Nerja nice spot, and Mijas. Can't remember exactly how far away they are. Driving distance to Gibraltar as well. |
