There are two very nice aqua parks there a large one which is brilliant and a smaller one in Peurto Rico which is nice and relaxing - highly reccomended.

I reccomend you stay in Peurto Rico for a family as Playa Del Ingles is a bit more 18-30 clubbing orientated. Peurto Rico is a really nice town and the beach is buzzing with loads of things to do - try the big red power boat if you are up for a thrill. Or you could try one of the many whale and dolphin watching cruises that are on offer.

Hire a car - The centre of the island is beautiful and well worth a visit. Or you can take a coach journey there. Excellent scenery. Loads of mountains and look out points.

If you want to take a day out and go on a bid adventure a big MUST is the Loro Park in Tenerife. A coach will pick you up from your hotel quite early (about 7.30) and will drive you up to the north of the island where you are put on a ferry and shipped to tenerife where another coach will take you to Loro park - Dolphin shows, whale shows, an excellent seal show.....your kids will be in heaven and so will you.....this is a long day though but if I remember it was quite cheap.

There are loads of minigolf courses everywhere in Gran Canaria especially in Peurto Rico and they are a good laugh. In Peurto Rico they also have trampolines, tennis, rock climbing etc.

Peurto De Mogan is a really nice little town which is well worth a visit - lovely beach with palm trees and pedalo boats. Well worth it if you want a nice relaxing day with some good restaurants and excellent sea food. I strongly reccomend the restaurant right at the end of the pier which will give you lovely views.

Gran Canaria is massively tourist orientated and there are loads of things to do. When you get to your hotel, pick up a few of the thousands of leaflets you will find at reception and take your pick.

Enjoy

EDIT

I forgot about the go karting club - has one of the biggest tracks in Europe and also has a kids track- it is in Maspolomas I think. Well worth a visit.

Anywhere in the Canaries is a fantastic holiday for all the family. The beaches are beautiful (and free) try following the Peuto Rico beach walkway (beautiful views and lovely walk) you come to Maspolomas Beach, -think that its name - which is fab and great for the kids. Has small shops and lovely bistros. Ahh, the memories, have a great time

The three best websites to research the family scene for Gran Canaria are :

The official tourism bureau for Gran Canaria :http://www.grancanaria.com/

The official tourism bureau for Spain [ via this link ] :http://www.tourismrankings.com/Spain/

For accommodation there is a directory which allows you to sort alternatives by price , location and star rating - just click on the sort features. The descriptions provide information regarding children at these hotels , resorts and apartment complex's.

Gran Canaria :http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Spain/Gran-Canaria-Island/

Hope that helps
