The most northeasterly of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote has embraced the tourism boom with a more laid-back feel than its popular sister islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. Nature is still a big attraction on this small volcanic island, camels are often used to transport goods. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/balearic_canary/lanzarote.htm for more details |

Hi, I used to live in Puerto Calero which is just outside PDC and worth a trip by Taxi. Either take the water taxi or a car from PDC at a cost of about 6 - 15€
To see the various attractions take a look at:-
www.discoverlanzarote.com
www.lanzarotewebcams.com
www.lanzarote.com
These are packed with information onwhat to see and do.
In July you could see temps around 40 degrees so remember the sun screen and the soles of your feet.
Hope the web sites help.
Enjoy the Island. |

I go to puerto del carmen every year with my family and its great. The beach is fab and there is lots of shops, restaurantes, bars ect. (lots of shops selling electronics ect. cameras, video recorders, mp3 players) The night life is also great depending on what u like but there is a bit of everything. There is also a small shopping centre which is really good if you are looking to buy english and spanish clothes and gifts even though it is quite a long walk. Also make sure you do the volcano tour as it is fantastic and you can catch the boat over to fuerteventura for the day which is great and it only takes around 30 mins to get there. You will have a fantastic time there !! |

I went around 16 years ago, the place is spotless, the sea is crystal clear, wear some sandals on the bezach as the volcanic sand gets red hot. Cannot say much about nightlife as I am a non drinker but there are plenty restraunts and bars etc. Only one thing, its bloody expensive. |
