I live in Valencia, Spain, and although biased, I have to say that it really is beautiful! Although the 3rd largest city in Spain, Valencia is quite small, and easily walkable. It's clean, safe, and offers residents and travellers many options (i.e. museums, shopping, churches, beaches, restaurants, nightlife, etc.). The beach itself is located about 15-20 mins. away from the city center, but you can get there easily via metro, bus, or walking (45mins). Its called Malvarosa, and is very long and wide. The water is calm, and it only really gets busy in June, July, and August. The only thing that I don't like about it is that there are not a lot of palm trees where the sand is, so shade is a bit of a problem. You can rent chairs for about 3 euros...and you can also get some great paella at the beach! |
