The main attraction is La Mesquita which is amazing. Also, walking around the old jewish quarter and visiting the Sinigoga, the Alcazar, Bullfighting Musuem and the Medina Azahara the ruins of a Moorish Place outside the city. Also, doing the "Paseo" (whre everyone strolls aroound the main shopping area ( ruta de Califaro) just above the old town around 8 PM) was cool. I stayed at the Hostal El Triunfo -- I don't know if I would say it is great hotel, but it has a great location (right next to La Mequita), friendly service, is clean and comfortable, reasonable prices, Spanish authenticity and parking (important if you have a car). Cordoba was definity one of the highlights of my first trip to Spain.

nice. There is a place called Aishwiri that is a bed and breakfast type place. You might be able to access it if you go to a tourist's website for Cordoba. I don't know.. it's pretty much known by locals though.... The place is beautiful, charming with seats with rich corinthian leather! The owner, who looks alot like Ricardo Montalban, is very accommodating and one of the best sources of information regarding cordoba I have ever met.

As someone else said, La Mesquita is an amazing mosque that you absolutely must see. The entire city is really just beautiful. They're know for their silver, so definitely check out their jewelry. There are plenty of little shops to browse through. They also have great tilework and other crafts. Only took a day trip there, so I cant suggest any hotels but it's definitely a good choice to visit.
