Yes. David Meca swam across the staits in only 2h27 minutes beating the world record in 1999. And it was december. (10 foot waves!).

Then again in January 2008, there and back, and June 2008 there, bacj and there again!!!

He's quite a guy, he was also the 1st to swim across San Francisco Bay to Alcatraz Island.

Lots of other atheletes have also swum across the straits, but David is the only one to have made the trip 3 times in one day.

I doubt it. The shortest distance is off the Spanish coast near Tarifa. The currents are very strong. That area a few years ago, a surf-boarder had his surfboard bitten in half by a great white shark. Bearing that in mind, I'll pass on that one!

hmmm...idk it's probably pretty possible but i'd think alot of people would a little scared cause of sharks and other sea creatures

Don't think so, though I wouldn't put it past the Africans to have gone the other way! Or at least there are jokes about it.

genco
no but is that possible. I know spain is near to Morocco but still far for swimming. For people who did it, good job.

I don't think so, the currents are TO strong, this is where the mediterrian sea comes into life, because the rate of evaporation inside the sea is faster than it can be filled

Maybe try a record book.

But the African's take boats from Morocco to the Canary Islands, and from Algeria to some Island's in Italy and Malta, I'm sure like Jane said. They would swim if they could!
