Alcudia is the island of Mallorcas Blackpool. I would never entertain going there. The problem is I do not know what you like. I go to Magalluf which is busy, something for the kids, good nightlife but smaller and much more select than Alcudia. Magalluf is next door to Palma Nova which is bigger and busier but I have always gone back to my "home" at Magalluf. If you do the island drive go to Andraix and drive up the mountains to Pollensa, that way you are on the inside of the road when the buses are coming at you, the other way is scary. Porto Christo is lovely but expensive. Porto Andraix is gorgeous. Portals Nous has a large marina if you like boats. There is a vista at Genova where you can see for MILES! Shopping in Palma is an ace, with little alleys crammed with shops. If you do go to Magalluf the Antillas is the best hotel and its sister hotel next door, the Barracuda, is only half as good. Hey, gotta go, I wanna book a flight. Enjoy. |

Hi,My daughter and son inlaw have been to alcudia 6 times and thouroughly enjoyed every time and the kids have a ball.My husband and myself have been to palma nova/magaluff on 4 occasions and 2 years ago went to alcudia with the family and had a great time there is something for all ages but take it from me go to alcudia before magaluff.We stayed at the delfin Azule hotel and it was great.Have a good holiday. |

I have been to every holiday resort in Spain and Alcudia and Santa Ponsa are my top 2 resorts, Alcudia is great for families, the only thing you should watch out for is mosquitoes in Alcudia especial up at the Jupiter & Saturn Hotels and the Bellvue Complex as there is a large lake there and lots of mosquis, it is a family resort, I stayed in the Cuidad Blanca overlooking the beach and in the Bellveue Complex which is very popular with families but it is about 10 minutes walk to the beach - I hated Magaluf & Palma Nova as it was FLU of british teenagers and was constant noise. I hated Benidorm, dirty noisy and full of prostitutes, If I had a choice of Alcudia or Santa Ponsa I would choose Santa Ponsa. |
