hi, we went about 4 yrs ago, loved it, there are pirate ships you can book to go and watch dolphins through the bottom of the boat, also we went in pedalo's and nearly got overturned bu all the boats lol, you could also try your hand at going on the paragliders, you can go scuba diving theres a lot of pubs and restaurants on the beach front, there were places you could book daily excursions like going to zoos and go karting, we only stuck to the one area mind as we had the kids and it was soo hot they hardly wanted to go far but i heard there was another beach further along and there was alot more stuff to do that way!

Las Americas is totally commercialised and is a drunken brawl place now.

Yes, I“ve been to Las Americas on Tenerife. It“s really quite nice.
Note that it“s not Das Americas, which sounds vaguely German :)

I have included a link to a website all about Las Americas below. Also check out the video (second link).

Absolutely full of touts for restaurants and bars.

There are some wonderful Self Catering Resorts, in this region.
The beach at Fanaby to-wards Los Cristianos is a wonderful stroll.
The new Water-park is well worth a visit, plus numberous boat trips to see the Whales and Dolphines..A great Zoo and Parrott Park within
travelling distance..No trip would be complete without a visit ti Mount Teide.and the surrounding National Park...Enjoy

I was there. There is a really good night life although you do get fed up with the touts pushing discount tickets on you constantly.
There is also a good market in los cristanos which is really cheap to get to by taxi.
The only downfall is the constant hassle from the Africans who come over by boat every morning. They really torment you wanting to sell you goods and braid your hair and such.
Ignore them from the off and you will be fine.
Also check out the prices on the beaches. They charge you for a lounger even , and one end of the beach is much cheaper than the other. Like 10 euros cheaper per lounger which is a lot.
