It's not a sprawling modern resort, it's a 'proper' small town, and is one of the nicest on the coast. It's regarded as a family resort, so is quite quiet compared to other places. It depends what you want: if it's sizzling nightlife then Puerto Pollenca might not be the place for you. It has some 'real' shops & restaurants, as well as those that cater to tourists, a market and a nice beach. There is some spectacular scenery nearby, mountains and cliffs. (My husband is a birdwatcher and we made several trips there to see birds of prey, and others such as vultures.) The only downside I can think of is that it's a bit of a long way from everywhere else on the island, although Alcudia is not far (and much more built up).

That was our annual family holiday when I was a kid! It s lovely. A quieter part of the island with nice locals. There are the usual touristy pubs (I particularly remember the Red Lion) and a great clean beach. If u have the chance go!

If you have young kids and want only the beach and cafe then it good, if you are a pensioner then you will fit in well but for lots of good entertainment I wouldn't recommend it, the next resort is Alcudia and its great for all ages, except for a crowd of young single teenagers it is more for families with mixed aged kids.
