Has anyone visted Seville Spain...........?

Im going in January and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or any good reviews about it. Also which hotel did you stay at in Seville? Im not sure which one to stay at since the views on all the hotels were pretty mixed. Also did you visit any other cities while you were there such as Granada?

I was in Seville, Spain in 1995 and though things may have changed some things never do. I can't help you on hotels becuase I was in the military and didn't stay at one. Don't miss you chance to get immersed into the culture. I just happened to be there around Easter. The most grand specticle of religion goes on with parades of lavish floats all carried by men through the streets. All the floats are different and sponsered by different churches. They were mouth dropping awsome. I asked a local why one of the men was blindfolded carrying a float. I was told that that individual had a special prayer for someone in his life and as a show of devotion he would carry the burden blindfolded. The best and most memorable place while I was there was a small quaint village called Mias. It was the most beautiful picture postcard come to life. Rota is a big place but mostly military and seaport. Barcelona was still buzzing from the Olympics and the Olympic village was a great place to party and shop. If you go to Granada make plans to see a bullfight. Whatever your views are on animal crulety don't miss you chance to see the tradition. It is a well corrigraphed dance of life and style. If your young and want to party with all of Europe go to Palma. I had some of the most wild nights ever there. I loved the old buildings and plazas. Look up Visigoth and Moorish architecture before you go. I found Spain and the people of to be the best country I have ever visited. The locals are approachable and the elders will gladly sit and talk to you all day if you want. They are very proud of their country and community. I wish I had taken more tours, pictures, and money.
