we stayed there last xmas for a holiday, they look amazing, the white and green looks lovely, the rooms were clean and a good size. it had two pools which was cool, one was massive and had salt water in it, and another was smaller but reasonable average size ppool which was heated, which was good cos in december it wasnt warm and sunny there so heated pool meant we had choice of swimming. there were some brave souls managing the cold pool, so its an option too. matagorda is kinda small and a bit quieter than some resorts but its fine cos it was what we wanted .puerto del carmen is a livilier and bigger and more to do and only a short distance away, v cheap and quick in a taxi, and this suited us perfectly as matagorda was not as touristy trap feel and was nicer, but also could go to pdc at night if wanted a bit more and leave then wen it too much. best of both worlds !! beach looked nice as weel and was only down the road, but at time it wasnt being used and was empty so i cant say if it gets packed or busy in the summer time.
There was loads to do , usually holiday stuff like beach and pool, and usual holiday excurisions and activities. Timanfaya national park worth a visit, also a texas ranch place that looked cool but we didtn try though. can t remember evertytrhing now but there was lots of stuff and places to go see / do. as it was xmas and too cold /wet to do lots of the things it was disappointing but i think up to about October u should be fine weather wise, we did get some sun in december just wasnt that warm.
