The best way to get that information is to google it or look on wikipedia!

I don't do homework.

Statues here?

There are lots.

Columbus. at the foot of the ramblas. The locals call it " They went that a way". It points in the wrong direction too!

The lady with the umbrella. In the park near the zoo along with a Walt Disney memorial.

A boy with a vomiting frog near the corner of Paseo de Gracia and Diagonal. (It's a fountain)

There is a fat cat in the plaza in the Raval and a fat horse at the airport.

There are a number of weird ones such as MirĂ³'s Lady with bird. (The locals call it something very rude).

Roy Lichtenstein's face of barcelona. At the bottom of Via Leytana.
There is also a giant Prawn / shrimp nearby.

The big shining fish near the Port Olympic.

There is a big one of Christopher Columbus.

Best of all though are the 'human' ones. People who dress and make up to look like a character then stand perfectly still. Some will move a little if you add a coin to their box. Great to watch.

Cool facts: a lot of famous artists have lived in Barcelona, including Gaudi and Pablo Picasso. There is a castle on a hilltop overlooking Barcelona, but it was built in the 1970s. There is a museum with a glass floor that you can see Roman ruins underneath.

Statues: Gaudi did a neat statue of a lizard out of colored mosaic at the entrance to his park (Parque Guell) Sorry, can't remember other statues, though there are a lot of really unique, strange buildings.

you can find all the basics online. just search...Barcelona...maybe go into a photo sharing site and search people's photos of Barça...stay off the lodging sites...you won't find much of interest to you there for this.

Cool important facts...off the beaten track ones...chocolate is really good, there...it's an important piece of the local cuisine. And the ice cream there is REALLY good!

In the Big market on Las Ramblas...la Boqueria, you can buy fried bugs and razor clams. I was going to get them both, but we sort of ran out of time. Razor clams...never had those, they are supposedly very strong in flavor, but I couldn't say for sure (highlighted on Bizarre Foods a couple of years ago.)

Look on the ground when you're there...the paving tiles are really interesting...some of them designed by famous artists. Always look up while in Europe.

Don't eat the paella if they have photos of five or six different varieties...it has come out of a box. You want FRESH.

For a report? or going there, and looking for interesting sites?
