Hi there.
A family of 5 travelling isn't an easy or cheap holiday to organise. The reason for this is the accomodation configuration.
Everything seems to cater for 2,3 or 4 but 5 is always a problem, especially in Spain.

Lots of people are suggesting some great holiday destinations, but my guess is that it's going to be very much a choice based on price. Many of the most popular resorts may not offer the best prices or accomodation options for your family.

There are a few 2 x bedroomed apts available but if you book through a tour operator you'll be charged huge under occupancy supplements if you get any kind of child reduction.

Therefore if your're clever and do the work yourself and book flights accomodation and transfers all seperately you'll save a small fortune and get something nice.
You'll save the most by booking an apartment because you'll be booking the apartment based on a whole charge and not per person per night. Ie, if an apt is £250 a week, it's £250 a week whether theres 2 or 5 of you in it and you won't pay under occupancy supplements.

In Salou however, there are quite a few cheap apts, unfortunatley they are very very basic and might not suit your family if you're looking for quality.

So.. I'd suggest looking at The Canaries ,because there are plenty of apartments for 5 or 6 in the Canaries- especially in Tenerife and Lanzarote.

If your budget is flexible and you fancy a hotel then I'd suggest somewhere like The Beatriz Playa in Matagorda Lanzarote- You can fit a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids up to age 11) in their Junior suites which are very nice, and you can have HB which means it's a real holiday fro mum!

There are also some great deals on 2 x bedroomed apts all inclusive in Lanzarote, try the HL group of hotels or Iberostar- all have family properties ata very reasonable price.

You will definitely be much cheaper booking this independantly- you can do this through an independant travel agent should you not wish to do it yourself but they should package it themselves for you rather that using a major tour operator.

Have a look at

http://www.medhotels.com/book/hotels.asp...

They have some terrific deals- even in school holidays- just book the flights seperately. I've found

http://www.directholidays.co.uk/... really good for flights to the Canaries this year!

There are a couple of hotels in Majorca with rooms for a family of 5. The Canarios Park in Calas De Mallorca has a couple, and the Cala Romanei also does but they are pretty basic.

As for holiday apartments, there are a few 2 x bedroomed.
check out

Be careful about not getting ripped off for your transfers. With most tour operators charging around £20 pp for a coach transfer thats £100 for your family so consider a hire car- Most private transfer/taxi companies are for a maximum of 4- if you hire a car it will be much more cost effective and you have the car for the full duration of the holiday- This means you don't have to worry so much about the location of the accomodation.

I really hope you get something nice- all the best of luck!

North of Mallorca, such as Puerto Polensa or Alcudia. The sea is cleaner up north.

I too have three children.
We are going to Salou in Spain for a fortnight.
there is a big theme Park called Port Aventura which the kids (and maybe Grown ups!!) will love.
There is also a water based park called Aquopolis which is also fun for parents and kids.

Also if you are a footie fan then Barcelona F.C is only about an Hour away.
The Stadium is well worth a visit if you like footie.
