Happy Murcia
I used to live in Pueto de mazarron murcia(pronounced Moothia)It is on the Costa Calida (the Hot Coast) major cities/towns include Cartegena,Murcia,Totana,Mazarron,Isla Plana,San Javier,Alhama,Lorca,Caravaca,etc..Good food and very Spanish as the tourist trade has yet to get there.it is a good spot for the Spanish to go to for thier summer hols,,
The Sierra Espuna national park is there with wild boars, lots of fine wide beaches, old churches and backwater villiages, loads of tomatoe fields and some good local strong wines.Cartagena has some good shopping and lots of oldy worldy streets plus a fine amphitheatre and boat trips.Just get out and explore the areas its really nice.....

Murcia city, capital of Murcia province in SE Spain, on the Segura River.
Much of Murcia's charms come from the region being off the beaten track - at least as far as mass tourism is concerned. But even so, it is remarkably easy to get to and to get around.

See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/murcia.htm for more details
