Although you seem to get free accomodation, the pay is very poor. You have to work long, irregular, unsociable hours for very little. This includes late night airport duties then getting up early the next day. On the bright side, you get lots of sun and meet lots of interesting people. Also you have to consider what you would do in the winter season. Work in a ski or winter sun destination? You could also go back to England to work as a travel agent for this period. A BTEC in Travel and Tourism would also be very useful.

I suggest that you learn English spelling before you even think of learning a different language. |

Apply direct to an big tour operator, but with you NOT speaking spanish, or even english from the look of the note, you will not be very lucky..............even the smallest amount of spanish would help, but at 18, no languages, you will be just a glorified run about/teamasher for the rest of the group of reps I should imagine, sorry........ |

I think you have to be older than 18. My son applied at that age to Thomson and he could speak Spanish but got refused because of his age. Why don't you apply direct to the big companies, Thomas Cook, etc to see what is required. But good experience to live in another country while you are young. There are plenty of jobs in bars in the holiday season but from October to Easter it goes quiet. Do come out with enough money behind you for lodgings etc to start. |

Yes start with the tour operators .A diploma or Btec would be an advantage and if you do not manage to gain employment this year will tide you over untill next recruitment.pay is low accomodation provided.very long hours 1 day off a week and a lot of problems.
There are colleges in spain like the one i teach at that offer travel training diplomas with the option to work part time and learn spanish at the same time.
But here in spain there are plenty sales jobs but as in oher countries the cost of living etc is rising and people and companies are feeling the crunch so have a think about it you can always contact me for more info.
Good Luck. |
