are you coming from the US??? are you a US citizen?
here's a link for more info if you're a US citizen...

how old is your child?
well, I guess it doesn't matter how old the child is coz I know it is a requirement even for infants.

As soon as I had my baby I got her birth certificate and applied for a passport and we travelled when she was a few months old.

FYI: there's also extra requirements besides passports when your child is a minor and travelling with only 1 parent. the link above will tell you more about it.

buen viaje...

Even babies need their own passports to travel internationally.

I would imagine that different countries have different laws.

I might be wrong, but I think in the UK a child needs a seperate passport.

If the child is under one, I think it is ok. It was ok for me anyway going to Germany. That was a little while ago, though. You may need to call the Post office or Passport agency to be sure.

Most countries will still accept a child named on their parents passport but l would check this out with the country you are travelling to l do know for a fact that Bulgaria no longer accepts children on their parents passport but l don't know about spain. once your passport has run out the child will need a passport of their own

Everyone including babies need their own passports.

Each child must have their own passport.

christybitencourt
I'm almost certain that your child will need a passport, too. Call the Spanish embassy to make sure.

Good luck.

PS ~ I've been to Spain and it's beautiful! Had a blast there. The European countries seem to be more "child friendly" to me. You'll see people with their kids everywhere.

All children must have their own passports now, I would get them asap and have the forms checked at the post office before sending them, worth the money rather than messing around

I understand that all people need a passport no matter how young they are. So the child must have his/her own passport.
