About 20 minutes with good traffic.
About 1 hour with bad traffic.
About 1 hour and a half with awful traffic.
And so on...
Madrid can be hell if you move by car!

You need to be more specific. Getafe is a town in the outskirts of Madrid, and you can say it's part of Greater Madrid itself. There's even metro line to Getafe!!.
It could be 30 min WALKING if you depart from Villaverde district (South Madrid) up to 30 min by car if you depart from Barrio del Pilar (North Madrid) , as long as it's not rush hour, of course.
