I would say £1000 would be plenty (about 1500euro).
If you intend on having some meals in your apartment (so more money for drinking) don't go to the supermarket near the apartment. Ask at reception where the supermarket is in the nearest main town. Everything is always much more expensive in the resort supermarkets, it'll be worth the bus/taxi journey. Even if you only want to buy bread/cereal and drinks etc... they will be much cheaper where the locals shop! (They have a good variety of food and even some UK brands).
Also, in the first couple of days go to some bars and restaurants owned by Brits. Ask them where's good but cheap to eat and drink. After a couple of days you'll feel like you're at home, if you visit the same places you might even get the odd free drink etc... People are really friendly over there, locals and expats. With you going for 6 weeks, after the 1st week everyone that works there will remember you!

take more food with you like bacon, eggs, bread, cereal so you don't have to buy it over there. depending on the amount you drink when clubbing i'd say an average of £30 a day. |

Well if you want breakfast, lunch time snack and an evening meal plus a few beers, I'd say you need at least £1200 if your going to penny pinch why go for so long make it a month and have a really great time |
