It's about 40km and there is a bus (Barcelona Bus) which goes direct from placa catalunya, this bus will take you to either the airport (if that's the case you can get a discount with Ryanair) or to Girona city centre, which is really beautiful. There is a train but you have to go to Francia station and change in Granollers. I'd recommend taking the bus as it's not so expensive.
