How much do taxis cost in Madrid?
How much will it cost to get from the airport to my hotel in the opera district? Are there taxis easily available in all parts of Madrid or do I have to book ahead? Do I have to tip?
Take their Metro. Get a map of the system from the airport and ask them for directions. they are very helpful and the metro is safe, clean and dirt cheap

Taxis are usually easily available, ask the hotel if you need to book ahead for some reason. A smallish tip is ok (5-10%), but you may choose not to tip as well.
