How much spending money do I take on holiday with me?

I am going for a chill out week to Gran Canaria in October with my mate. She is now stressing me out as she says she is taking £500 - £600 with her. I can't afford to take that much so how much would you say is reasonable for a week? I don't want to be having to watch what I spend but it's not a big 'going out holiday' just a week's break from reality x

if you're a hot chick, you wont need much money, as you'll get loads of blokes or slimey bar owners buying you drinks (watch out incase they slip something in it !), but if your a minger...take quite a bit !

Jen
i would say about £300 and take your cash card with you for emergencies. You Will get really cheap drink when me and my mates went to magaluf we always bartered the bar tenders for cheap drinks, if you start walking away they always surrender...suckers!! ha ha!

Take what you can afford. Use a credit or debit card and be sure to take travelers' checks in small amounts. That worked best for me in the Carribbean. Have fun!

Lisa
As long as your travel and accommodation is paid for, and you're prepared to spend wisely then there's no reason why you need spend more than £300 (and certainly you could spend less if you wanted)...but you should always take cards just in case you do need more (or see things you want to buy!)

Talk to your mate before you go though and tell her what you're planning to budget, because if she's going to want to be doing things you can't afford then you might end up falling out while you're away

well if your a smart shopper then all you have to bring is 300 hundred. apart from train, car or plane fees.

Gran Canaria is reasonably cheap, so i would suggest on taking £50 per day (£350 per week). Always remember to only take what you can afford though.

RAMSBOTTOM
YOU CAN ONLY TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU HAVE GOT
YOU SHOULD NOT NEED MUCH ANYWAY
