Your best bet is to do some searching, find a travel site, get the ticket prices, and check for lodgings, etc. You can do searches to figure out how much your entrances will cost, but I can tell you they run about 3 - 10€ per monument/museum. Food can be pretty cheap, or you can go very expensive (same as your lodging).
We did a month for about $5000 US per person last year. If you go for less, you can figure roughly $1000/week, a little over $1000/airfare. You could go cheaper than we did. We chose to have our rooms booked in advance. You can walk into places and get rooms for half what we did. We ate at restaurants/cafes and bars a great deal of the time...if you get all your food at markets and grocery stores and picnic, then you could probably get off for about $500/week. If you like the really rich life, you can figure about $2000 or more a week.

it depends on where you are and how early you get your plane ticket. i am an american living in spain, and the nest deal i could find for a one-way ticket from virginia to spain was around $700. good luck!
