Old enough to realize that the world is actually dangerous and not just a huge playground. When you realize that and you think you can handle yourself in an environment you're not accustomed to, you could handle any place for a couple weeks. Maturity level also matters. I'd say if you're at least 15 like me you could handle it. Just make sure you know how to speak the language etc. |

If your parents are smart, they won't send you to another country until you turn 18...
Unless you know someone there, in that case, you can be a little kid, and you can travel alone |

you can go anywhere but you need your parents permission and also somone (gaurdian) needs to watch over you as your thete (spain) as far as the plain the hostress will watch over you |

I'm not sure that anyone who isn't yet 18 has the tools to go out of their home country all alone. I have heard of youngsters coordinating trips together, so if you are going with friends, you might be okay.
A woman, you want to have a plan in case anyone tries anything (but that's true of any place you are going, even at home!) Take some self-defense courses, learn how to protect your valuables, keep a cell-phone in case of emergency, and keep it safe from pickpockets, and carry something like pepper spray!
I hope you speak fluent Spanish, because there are many parts of Spain where only knowing English will be a problem! The language barrier being less of an issue if you aren't alone...two people to work together on sign language. Somehow it works better. |

At least 18 to get there without a parent, and preferably employed prior to that to earn you own way. Lots of passport requirements wil slow you down some but it can be done. |
