That's because it's like asking how old is the country of France. It depends on your point of view. It depends on what you mean by "country" too. Put it in those ambiguous terms, there's no right or wrong answer to that question, as it's the case with most european countries. My advise to you is to check "Spain", or better "History of Spain" on wikipedia.org.
