Spain is very safe over all. I think you would enjoy the Spanish way of life , more relaxed, better food, and great place for kids to grow up..

I am also an American who moved here 8 months ago with my fiance ( who is a Spaniard) and we live in Barcelona, and Plan to marry here and Live here. I am very Happy with my choice.. and The Spaniard overall are wonderful people. So don´t worry you will make the right choice if you decide to move here..

Take care..

Spain is a beautiful place to live. My Daughter moved there nearly a year ago with her 2 children and shes wouldn't move back to Britain now, plus the education is fantastic.
Hope this helps.

Spain is a very relaxed country, and the way of life is something of a shock to those of us who are used to getting things done. It's very much a manana approach to everything, this can be frustrating till you get used to it.

It would be good to get away from all the silly politics that we have in the U.S. and U.K.

The Spanish love life and take every possible reason to have a fiesta.

If you have the right attitude to life you will love it here, just relax and let the lifestyle wash over you. Kids will find it easy to integrate and the schools are good. School is closed for 12 weeks now as it is too hot for study.

Food and drink are cheaper than in the U.K. it tends to be fresher as still many homes are without water and electricity, if you go to live near a town you will have these essential facilities. In the campo it may be different.

Anyway come and see for your self, you couldn't give me a ticket to New York or London, it's so good here.
