i am an american citizen and i want to get a visa for spain.
can anyone help me on how long it takes and what the requirements are? i would be going to school and working.
You have to approach the Spanish embassy for the visa and apply for the same there on its consular offices in a place near you.
requirements are your passport, emigration clearance etc as usual.

contact the closest consulate of Spain/France/Germany/Netherlands. Within the Schengen-Area the requirements are the same. They will give you the correct answer.

It takes ages, my friend did the same thing, he had to wait months for the thing, he was also from the US. e-mail the Spanish consulate it's your best bet.
