mexican spanish is different than spanish spanish.
jeezus... you would pass up an incredible opportunity to travel the world and live abroad cause you dont wanna learn spanish? how lazy are you?
i mean, keep in mind europe has open borders where you can travel from country to country with no passport. take a train and go to london, rome paris and see the world.
and maybe become a more cultured person in the process.
but pity the poor baby! i may have to learn spanish.

People in Spain are nothing like Mexicans. They are mostly white Europeans. Spain is much "whiter" than the US. You have a lot to learn. Spain is a fantastic place and you are lucky to have the chance to live there.

Dude! Get a grip! First of all, the worst thing you can do in this category is insult Spain and Spaniards.

And, while Mexicans are perfectly wonderful people, I happen to have a slew of really nice Mexican neighbors, it is REALLY WRONG to lump Spaniards (who are Europeans) and Mexicans (who are Americans*, and largely mixed with Native Americans and other nationalities) as "the same anyways"! SUCH AN INSULT!!! TO BOTH GROUPS!!!!

And a "true, American family" (BTW a TRUE American would know to capitalize the A) isn't, by any means, White or Caucasian, which, in point of fact, the Spanish ARE!

You will not "go to Spain and live with Mexicans", since few Mexicans actually have enough money to travel or live in Spain, so if you were to meet one, you probably wouldn't notice, for all the other Spaniards, there.

* The word American, actually covers all people from the "Americas" or the "New World", Western Hemisphere, North and South America and the islands of the Caribbean, etc.

YOU NEED to go live in Spain...you might develop a bit of sensitivity for other people.

PS I would have given my right arm to have my parents offer me what yours are giving you on a silver platter! I struggled so hard to learn Spanish, and dreamt for YEARS of going to Spain! When I finally saved up the money, I took advantage of every opportunity offered me there. I hope you develop a sense of gratitude for what your parents are giving you, and for god's sake! Don't refer to it as "crappy Spain!" You have no idea what wonders you can experience!

Oh, and you aren't going to make your parents do anything. They are your parents, and you had better buckle down and do as they say!
