I'll be moving to Granada, Spain, in July for a year and will need a job. Which is this best way to find one?

I have been learning Spanish for about 1 year, and will be partaking in 4 weeks of intensive Spanish lessons upon arrival in Granada. I shall have just graduated with a degree in Microbiology and I have a years experience as a bar man in a very busy pub. The job will need to be full time or enough to sustain myself for a year in Spain. I already have an NIE number.

If you want to try & integrate more into the Spanish way of life as opposed to mixing with the Brits abroad, try the following Spanish jobsite to register your CV's with (I used them when I lived in Madrid, and also now I live in Donostia/San Sebastian in the North):

www.infojobs.com
www.totaljobs.com
www.infoempleo.com
http://www.infojobs.net (if having difficulty with this one, go to infojobs.com, then you get the option to sign on to .net).

Also ask some of the UK agencies if they have offices abroad, international websites etc., a lot seem to like pagepersonnel.com etc......

Good luck!!!! Remember, stay away from the Brits, speak the language as much as possible, and believe me you'll get a real benefit from ixing with the locals.

Buena suerte hombre, que lo pases bien alli, Granada es impresionante!!

If you have a degree like that, what on earth are you moving here to work in bar for? What a waste of that education. Jobs are hard for anyone to find here for anyone, spanish included, unemployment is rising fast here, you may not get work as late as July either as thats high season, most jobs for the summer will be taken in the next few weeks, so whats left will be few and far between. It will be a case of looking when you get here, but no one should come here with no funds to support themselves for at least 6 clear months because of the jobs market

Why not consider doing a TEFL course and teaching English? There are plenty of English school in Granada plus you should be able to pick up a lot of private work too.

You may find this article ueful:-

Also have a look at this one about finding work in Spain:-

You seem super prepared!
I know many people form the UK here in Spain... well, they are mostly students and work as english teachers.... spain never runs out of english language schools..... even if u search for a job upon arrival u will find one! especially during summer! especially in Granada! Good Luck!

All I can tell you is that you might be surprised with the little money some schools may offer you to teach English. Don´t work for peanuts. You already know how much they might charge!. Good luck. Contact every school of English you find in your town and pick the best offer. You´ll probably find tons of ads looking for English teachers! suerte!
