altea is not too touristy, i stayed there for a few months from july to november and can be too quiet, even along the beach, outside of peak times, but it is lovely and if you go up to the church with the blue dome, through the cobble streets which are very narrow with tiny white houses with lovely colourful plants, your in another world. pedestrians only, you will have a beautiful view of the coast, there are 2/3 places at the top in a square to have a drink or food.
also along the beach, which isnt sandy, there are restaurants and bar,s which are very peaceful. i dont know what it is about altea maybe the pebbly beach but it doesnt atract too many people, more spanish and danish locals than english tourists. hope this helps, |
