My fiance and I are meeting in Barcelona, Spain. He's currently in Baghdad. Iraq and I'm in Arizona. We're going on a 7 day cruise. We need to find a hotel for the day before and the day after the cruise. We haven't been to Barcelona before and would like a nice romantic hotel - something that has some local flavor shall we say. We've checked lots of internet sites but I'm wondering if you have any first hand knowledge and/or experiences with the hotels that you can share. Thanks! |

I got back from Barcelona yesterday and i can recommend Banys Oriental Hotel. I stayed there for the weekend and its a really lovely hotel, I cannot comment on the food as we didn't eat in the hotel - there are however plenty of Tapas Bars to eat in in the same street as the Hotel. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, the room rates are very reasonable too. Your well within falling distance of loads of local shops and places of interest (although i didn't do much sight seeing). |

Try the Banys Oriental hotel in Born. It's a great boutique hotel that has won many awards. The area is just in front of the port and it's certainly the prettiest.
