You could spend the three weeks just in Barcelona itself, it is a magnificent city to visit...
All of the Architectural wonders created by GAUDĂŤ...
The Sagrada Familia Church still under construction,
La Pedrera, the Casa BatllĂł, The Parque GĂĽell, etc.

Then The BarrĂ Gothic, with its beautiful cathedral, the City Hall (Ayuntamiento), and many wonderful side streets...

Tha Ramblas with their little florist stands all along to look at (and smell!). and el Liceo Opera House.

Montjuich, the museums, the Columbus monument the Port area and dozens of other things.

If you like theme parks spend a day at Port Aventura. Quite good.
Also the zoo is excellent.
Go along the coast to Sitges, a quaint little village worth visiting, and have some excellent fish at any one of the restaraunts there along the port and beach area..
If you have enough time, and are interested in DalĂ's work, drive up to Figueres, and see his museum..
Or drive up to Andorra, stay overnight and drive back the next day...
If you can afford it, take a flight to Madrid and stay at least 2 days to visit the center of the city and the fantastic museums.. You can do El Prado a bit hurried in a morning, and the Thyssen & Reina SofĂa in an afternoon also hurried through, but worth the side trip.
For another trip do southern Spain... fly into Málaga and make it your base, then take day trips to Granada, Sevilla, Córdoba, Ronda, Cadiz & Jerez de la Frontera, and relax a day or two on the Costa del Sol between visits...
Spain could keep you busy for months!!
I know, I've lived in Málaga province for nearly 34 years...and still haven't seen everything the country has to offer!

I loved the city of Madrid. Also, go see the aqueducts of Segovia. That was pretty neat. Spain is one of my favorite places that I have been. The whole country was beautiful and the weather was that great dry heat.

Sigh, I am slightly jealous.

Have a great time.

If you are going to be mainly in Catalunya, check out the Dali Museum in Figueres. It's very quirky and fun. The town is very nice as well. Check out Barcelona, of course, especially the Gaudi structures and Guell Park. If you want to travel around northern Spain, I loved Oviedo (in Asturias), and the Peaks of Europe (Picos de europa) mountain range was beautiful and a nice break from the heat. I've heard that the Basque country, especially San Sebastian, was the most beautiful area in Spain. I was too chicken to go last time because of terrorism, but I'd go if I had the opportunity now. For a little farther south, check out Segovia, Salamanca or Avila, or go on a weekend trip checking out all three. El Escorial is quite close as well -- it's neat to see where all of the Spanish kings are buried. Go to Madrid if you have time -- I love the art museums. Barcelona and Madrid have great shopping! Santiago de Compostela is great too, but maybe a bit too far west (on top of Portugal). Have fun!

Depending on what you're looking for, Llorett de Mar was amazing. The houses that sit atop the cliffs overlooking the Mediteranian were gorgeous. The beach itself was beyond amazing.
There are a lot of night clubs there too if you're interested in that.

Barcelona isn't far from there. It's a truely amazing city. You can go and watch a bull fight (a must see if you're in Spain). They have a fountain illumination at night which is breath taking. The fountains run along the road for a ways and goes up a hill to a massive fountain. They illuminate it different colors, different patterns of spray and they pipe in music to compliment it. There's a lot of old architecture as well.
