Check with Spain's regulations. Many countries insist that your passport is good for 6 months and yours will only be good for 4. Their Embassy in your country should have a website listing these regulations.

No. You shouldn't need to update your passport assuming you are not from Spain. You may need to obtain a visa depending on where you are from.
