I am going to Santa Ponsa (Spain) in July, I was just wondering if anyone has ever gone?

And what are the best places to go there, like clubs, bars, sites etc?

LadyTraveller
Many times Thomas- I love Majorca and Santa Ponsa is one of my personal favourites.

I went for the first time almost 25 years ago when it was just a small resort but it's grown over the years to be a really good alternative for the British to Magaluf/Palma Nova.

Santa Ponsa is littered with bars offering a wide variety of entertainment, heres just some of what there is in the resort, but there are many more:

ACORN BAR: Sun Beach Centre in the middle of town
Family run bar with traditional pub atmosphere - sunny terrace, Sky Sports TV, Pool table. Thursday Bowls arranged at Talberts followed by lunch. Quiz League every Sunday at 9.00 pm

AULD TRIANGLE: Ramon de Moncada opposite the entrance to 'The Square'
Irish Live Music Bar with Kevin Heaslip from Dublin to entertain you every night till late. Great Halloween Night Party and also St.Patrick's Day party

BAR RUMBA
Avenida Jaime 1 opposite the Hotel Playas del Rey
Friendly and comfortable Bar showing top sporting action on Plasma TV.

CALEDONIAN: In 'The Square' at Costa de la Calma
Music Bar with live acts every night & Karaoke. For 2006. Margo, Dee Daniels, Iain Duncan's tribute to Elvis, Ladies fantasy and Alex Duvall's hypnosis show.

CROWN BAR: In 'The Square' at Costa de la Calma
Live Music on the stage in the Square. Family Bar. Quiz Nights Tuesday & Friday in Summer. Ian Morrison Quiz & Bingo night every Friday in Winter. Also in Calvia Quiz League every Sunday and Santa Ponsa Pool League. All sports shown live. Internet available. Open 1.00pm til late.

DICEY REILLY'S
Ramon de Moncada, in the centre of town Irish Music Bar with two live acts every night. Sport & GAA shown and big TV Screens.

FLOZZIES FUN BAR:Ramon de Moncada 24, next to Fried Chicken, Carlos III and Arfur's Off Licence Dedicated family fun bar, kids games/ disco every nite. Drinks offers, 4 internet stations, pool, live sports, D.J Madness, prizes. Disabled access. All ages entertained!

GLASGOW BAR:Ramon de onmcada, opposite the entrance to 'The Square' Scottish owned bar and cafe. Karaoke & Quiz Nights, Pool Tournaments. Football and Soaps shown live.

JARDIN DE LUZ:Call Lisboa, just off Avenida Jaime 1 opposite the beach Family Bar. Everybody welcome. Food served all day. Live cabaret every night followed by Karaoke.

LA SALSA:Avenida Jaime 1 - on the way to The Marina Family run British bar. Open every day from 11am. Food served up to 6pm. Branded spirits only.

O'CONNORS:Ramon de Moncada just before Holiday Park Official Guinness Pub. Live music every night including Shane Farrell, the world champion banjo and fiddle player.

REBELS:Ramon de Moncada, just before Holiday Centre Robbie and Breda from Cork welcome you. Open every day all year. Soaps and sporting events on the big screen including GAA action.

SCOTTISH CORNER:Avenida Jaime 1 - on the way to The Marina - above Crocodillos Scottish run family bar with safe play area for children with plenty of rides games and bouncy castles. Pool tables - Sky TV, showing all live sport and soaps. Kitchen open 10am - 6pm.

SEAN'S PLACE:In the middle of town below the Deya apartments Still the best Craic in town after all these years. Great terrace. Live music nightly in the summer months with Mikey, Danny and Karl.

SIMPLY'S BAR:Ramon de Moncada, just before the Holiday Park complex Open since 1998 and a bit of in 'insititution' in Santa Ponsa ... free shot with every drink purchased - beware, some might blow your head off! Great selection of music from their own DJ.

SIROCCO BAR:Gran via de la Cruz - opposite the 'Little Beach' We are right opposite the 'Little Beach' so why not pop in for a long cold drink after a hard day's sunbathing? Also, snacks to eat in or to take to the beach. Pool league Monday.

WATERING HOLE:Avenida Jaime 1 - opposite the Pine Woods Bar - restaurant - Swimming Pool. Eat, drink and relax by the pool while the children enjoy the play area in our beautiful gardens. Wheelchair and buggy access throughout. Quiz League Sunday night.

Check out this site for in-depth info on the resort:

You'll have a great time there- wish I was going too!

Good luck

I have been to all of the Spanish resort and if anyone asked which one i recommend I always say Santa Ponsa, I was there last year and no matter what age group you are in its fantastic, there is lots of clubs pubs etc, Stepps is really good and the prices for drinks are great, there is a lot going on in the square.
