I am moving to spain and have 2 huskies each about 2yrs old will they be able to cope with the warm climate?

I am worried about the warm climate and what I can do to ensure the welfare of the huskies

Yes, they will be able to cope with the warm climate. I had a Husky when I lived in Phoenix, AZ USA and she did quite well. I made sure that I brushed her on a daily basis to make sure that her coat was a light as possible, I also had a yard where I let her dig her own 'burrow' in the dirt to keep cool when she was outside. Keep them in air conditioning as much as possible, have plenty of cool water available for them at all times - I used a ceramic bowl and kept ice cubes in it for her as much as I could; make sure there is a cool place inside the house for them especially during the heat of the day...

That is all I can think of off hand - I hope this helps and good luck with your move and your dogs.

I think dogs adapt where ever they are. My main concern is ticks, in the summer they are plentiful and the poor dogs tend to suffer alot from them.It will also depend on where you intend to live in Spain as we have diverse climates depending on North or South of the country. If you are moving to the Costas (which I expect you are) then get advice from your local vet before you come and they will be able to tell you what to do.
Good luck

Yes they will! But if it gets to hot, you should have a pool or a mini pool for them to swim in if they get to hot, or a cool place for them. :)

Spain has multi-climates so the temperatures aren't always the same throughout. Where do you expect to live?

Only for about 3.5 months out of the year (June, July, August, and first half of September) is it considered very warm (or hot) in the lower two-thirds of the country and in the Barcelona area where it's hot and humid too.

Spain's northern regions like Cantabria, Asturias, Basque Country, and Galicia are much much more mild in the summer months - and the and the number of warm months are fewer there too.

You may want to cut the husky's hair shorter for those few warmer months.
