Elche can't be far away. Try The English College in Elche. You need to go for accredited schools.

There are a number of local town halls giving free spanish lessons, they may not be the best places to learn in the way you want to,but they are a source of information from the students ,of other places. I used to to take lessons with a small group with teacher who lives between Quesada, and torrevieja, but i moved ,and so has the teacher, but the group have found another teacher in the same area ,who they think is good, and she works at your speed ,she is also very reasonably priced.
if you are interwested and would like to email me i will give you further details, and there are other options ,though maybe a little further away, hope this helps.

Mr Computer
Hi Anne
I live in Spain and like you wanted to learn at my own speed.
The way I did this was by mixing with Spanish people, Like bars shops that sought of thing, If you try to speak the little Spanish you do know with them you will find they will help you. The other way that was a great help is television boring at first but you will get the gist of the programs even if you have TV or radio on in the back ground.
There is some books with tapes that I found helpful. The one I have was the one that the BBC published to go with there program on Open University. Sorry cant remember the title as the book is at home in Spain and I am here in the UK until the end of the month.
Good luck
