I might be going to Gran Canaria in April, will it be hot? Shorts wearing weather? Nice and sunny?

Will I get a tan? ;-)

It will be warm and generally sunny weather and you will get a tan. However, take a light jumper just in case. The Canaries have a sub-tropical climate - there is no winter as such - but they also have an oceanic weather system so you can get cloud, rain and strong winds. You'll also find that the weather on the north of the island is quite different to the south. Most of the resorts are on the sunnier southern coasts and even in April this can mean temperatures similar to the UK in July. You might also find that it can be sunny in the morning then you get a downpour but then the sun burns the cloud off again. The benign weather is why the Canaries are so popular and why in my opinion the larger islands have been ruined by mass tourism - try to get away from the resorts and explore elswher like the mountains, or the old traditional part of Las Palmas. Don't worry it'll be fine.

yes, you will get a tan for sure, specially if going to the south.
anyway, bring light sweaters for the evening.

It should be warm, yes shorts, but take a couple of cardigans, coz the evenings will get quite chilli....Tan...depends on your skintype, you will probably get a glow...make sure you use your sun protection cream though. Enjoy
