I'm sorry, there are only ferries from Plymouth to Santander or Portsmouth to Bilbao. There are no ferries to Malaga or Gibraltar, and there are no ferries from Gib to Malaga.
The train jorney from Santander to Malaga will take about 14 hours and I believe you have to change stations in Madrid.

it COULD be a ferry from the U.K to Bilbao
or Gibralter to Malaga...
but Bilbao to Malaga would be a cruise, I think it would take almost a week ! (around 5 days! if anyone does this!)
if you wanted to go from Bilbao to Malaga look at trains...coaches... or driving |

As others have said, you are not going to find a ferry to Malaga. Your options are either Portsmouth to Bilbao, or Portsmout/Plymouth to Santander.
You may have to suffer the train. Once you get to Madrid you can take the very fast AVE (186mph), which will do the journey to Malaga in 2hrs 40 minutes
I don't know how the connections would work out but it looks as though you should be able to get the fast ALVIA train from Santander to Valladolid, then the AVE from Valladolid to Madrid (just over an hour trip).
Havn't managed to go on one of these trains myself yet butshould be quite an experience - and they run on time!
I understand that if the AVE from Madrid to Sevilla (a 2hr 15min trip) is more than 5 minutes late arriving at it's destination, you are entitled to a refund! |
