I visit Spain but I will have to be in Bilbao, should I be sad about it?

I always wanted to see Spain but Bilbao is not too Spanish and it looks like a boring village to me. Am I wrong?
Additional Details
I don't want to be insulting or anything and I ask because I want to see from you mio amigos, if there is anything to do there.

it only has almost 400.000 people yes a very boring village -_- it is the 5th largest Metro-Area in Spain o_O

Don't use one of the newest and most advanced Metro systems in Spain - or any of the Trams, Trains or Bus System's
Don't visit any of the Monuments and buildings such as Euskalduna Jauregia, or Zubizuri
Don't take a look around the 8 districts
Don't visit the Zazpikaleak/Old Town
Don't visit any Tapas/Pintxo bars... our food is terrible
Don't visit any of our Churches, Museums, Civic Buildings
Don't visit the Casilda Iturrizar Park or visit the Ducks or Pergola there
Don't take any day trips to the amazing beaches of the Basque Country
Don't visit the natural parks and mountains the Basque country is famous for. - Urdaibai Bio Reserve. or any of the Euskal Mendiak (Basque mountains)
Don't do any shopping in some of the best Malls in the Basque Country
Don't take this time to enjoy life and the outdoors
Don't take this time to learn of Basque culture and Basque people
and please don't get drunk on Kalimotxo[Red wine & Coca·cola] or Cider

These are thing's the Basque country & Bilbo is NOT famous for -_-

=] But thank you for noticing Bilbo is Basque ;)

To add to the very detailed list of a previous answer...whatever you do...DON'T go to the Guggenheim...

If you adhere to all the advice you have been given...Bilbao will be better off....

Bilbao may not be the most exciting place in Spain, but it still has a lot to offer. The food there is amazing, it is the birthplace of tapas. It is a big city & has a lot to do. And anyway, if you go there, there are a lot of interesting things nearby (the Pyrenees, it is close to France, San Sebastian is gorgeous...) I find the whole history of the Basque country and their language to be fascinating & I'd love to go there again for the food alone...

In this case do not go to Barcelona either, it is Catalan, and not too Spanish.

Go to Andalusia instead, this is where flamenco is danced. Buy a Mexican sombrero, drink sangria, get burned by the sun, say "ole ole" and you will be a perfect "guiri".

Are you serious?

The Bilbao and the Basque Country is a wonderful place with nice landscapes, impressive gastronomy and nice people.

It seems to me like you're saying you don't have a choice but to be in Bilbao anyways.
So,
Should you be sad about it?
No.
Its best to exercise a positive attitude to everything, no matter where you are.

Every new place can teach you something, because you're away from everything that's familiar to you.
Nothing new is boring.
Just, try to enjoy Bilbao, and have fun in Spain.

You get to see the world: what's sad about that?

xoxo :))))))

I lived in Spain for 1 year and my only regret is only going to Bilbao once.

I'm not sure where you got your info from, but how on earth is Bilbao like a village??

Have a nice trip. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Bilboa, is a mess, and just be careful alot if illegal immigrants who travel to the UK from North africa use that route and there has been instances of muggins etc, its not a place that a tourist would want to visit, lots more exciting places to go to.
