I want to greatly improve my Spanish as well as get some experience abroad. Has anyone done anything like this and if so which companies or organisations are good at setting up these kinds of things? It would have to be over summer for like 4-8 weeks.

Hi - My daughter has managed to get a nine month contract in Spain, teaching english. She is part way through a degree in languages and has taken a break for one year. She gained her CELTA certificate in Barcelona and went onto apply for positions from there.
You can train for this certificate all over England. Just make sure you go to a reputable site. |

You can always do some sort of mission work or Habitat for Humanity or volunteer to help with civil engineering projects in Latin America. I know lots of people who do the mission thing, and my sister did Habitat around Juarez years ago.
Can't imagine anything that would work out in Spain because of the work visa problem, but you should be able to find some sort of volunteer work if you look hard enough. |

I did and didn't do somthing like this... I only know of Spanish schools here in Spain I don't know of any work... or any work that want's and English person.
But I'd just like to say to you do it =) I went to London two years ago and I learn a LOT of new words and how to understand people eaiser... worth the money =) but I didn't work... but we did have English lessons and Visit the sites =) Because I stayed with a family, the boy who was my ´pen-pal´ at the time, and my friend Mikel come also I learnt a lot about the culture and how and English house is´run´ or somthing =) |
