Inland places get really cold in winter and there is snow in some parts of the north. Winter this year in Madrid was cold, below freezing most nights and not much warmer during the day. If you go to a southern coastal area you will find a milder climate. For a honeymoon I would suggest coming in July, as August will be really crowded as all the spaniards are on holiday on the coast. |

i live near malaga and its fairley cold and does it rain it comes down like a water fall everywhere gets ankle deep in mud the road surface gets big holes in it from under ground springs not beining able to cope with the water but it dosnt last long although everything damp for weeks after it worth it for the summer months weather |

Different everywhere. So many different regions and climates that it is impossible to say, really. Probably pretty rainy in some parts, snowy in mountains and in the North. (nothing like what I live in in the Colorado Rockies, but more than most people expect). And colder in all parts of the Peninsula than I'll bet you are expecting. Sweater weather in the south, probably jackets and maybe snow clothes in the North.
Where will you be? That will make it easier for someone to answer.
*Edit* I, personally, do not PREFER when you go. The quesion really is when YOU would prefer to go. However, if you want an overall best weather time to travel to Spain, I would SUGGEST going in April or May. Especially in AndalucÃa, this is about the best weather time of year. August will be broiling hot in many places, including Madrid, though cooler in the Pyranees, Northern coast, and Granada. (Still, gonna be pretty hot in Granada during the daytime). |
