I want to move to spain i have a uk passport i know i need a n i e number thing do i need a visa to move spain?
what do i need before i move to spain and how do i get a good deal on a property to rent long term and how do i get it all sorted with out being coned out of money buy the spanish people
U.K Passport... in Europe NO VISA...
Move here for 90 days then go to the police station and ask them for an NIF/ Tarjeta de Res. then you can live and work here untill you die
You don't need to exchange your English passport... but if you did want to you'd have to live here for 5 years +
Where do you want to live ? You won't find work with all most 3 million unemployed... Learn Spanish... somthing English people find hard to because they are lazy and you can't get conned...
Chose your location then look at rental property in that area...

firstly no you do not need a visa to move to spain, yes an N.I.E is very important. getting a good deal i find depends on choice of location inland is much cheaper to rent but be careful if you are looking at longterm check out the building properly eg water, electric. but being coned out of money by spanish is the least of your problems its the british/expats you have to watch out for i would recomend buyin from spanish as they know far more and are far more honest!before you move i would highly consider getting a ehic card which will help cover for your medical side of things. hope you have a fantastic time like i have x

All you need is a UK passport and patience to get your NIE number.
Look around for a property to rent there are lots of good deals at the moment. I live on the SE coast and an 2 bedroom apartment is about 400€ a month some include bills some don't.
Finally stay away from the Brits it is them that will rip you off not the Spanish.

No need for a visa you come from within the EU.
The NIE number can be obtained from the local police station (policia local) just take your passport and they will give you forms to fill in you will also need a couple of passport photos too, usually there is a copy shop near by so not too inconvenient to return to the Police Station. They are usually very helpful.
Renting property is fairly easy and for some time now the renter has more rights than the owner regarding disputes. Average rent where I live in the Costa Blanca is about 500 - 600€ a month, they usually want 1 or 2 months security deposit, and the monthly rent in advance. Bills are usually separate and on top.
Someone else said there are more Brit con merchants here than Spanish and that is true. Depends on where you want to be.
Try reading on line Brit newspapers to give you an idea:
Hope this has helped you a little. But a word of warning....there is no work here so if that is what you are coming for, be prepared to have some deep pockets to keep you for a long while.

Go to your chosen destination and stay in a hostel for a couple of days while you trawl the estate agents to find a place to live.Alternately go to www.thinkspain.com there are hundreds of rental property on there.Do not part with much money up front. And no you do not need a visa

You're English=you're European= you don't need a visa.
It's called EUROPEAN UNION.
If you check before the prices in the area you're renting, then you will know if u're "being coned out of money". In Barcelona, a good flat (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms), would cost around 1500 €.
