If I have one day in Barcelona, Spain, what should I do? |
I am traveling for business and will end up in Barcelona. I will have a day to do some things, but have no idea what to do. I am looking to something on a budget, so nothing outlandish, please. |

Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada FamĂlia Cathedral, and Parc GĂĽell in the north. Or maybe visit the 98,000 seater Nou Camp stadium the home of Barcelona football club. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelona.htm for more details |

I loved Barcelona. Please, if you go, check out Sagrada Familia and Parque Quell all by Gaudi. He is amazing. And if you go, you cannot miss the medditerranean sea. It is truly beautiful and amazing. Don't forget to go to Catalunya and the famous street las Ramblas either. barcelona is a truly amazing place. Have tons of fun. |

Depends on where are you staying. If you are near Plaza Cataluna you can walk La Rambla up to the monument of Colon to take the feeling of the city. The Corte Ingles in front of the Plaza Cataluna have a cafeteria and a restaurant in the top with excellent views of the city.
My personal recommendation is to take a taxi to La Sagrada Familia or Parque Guell, two landmarks by Gaudi. |

I am in the same boat, heading there soon. A colleague of mine suggested looking at LonelyPlanet.com which will give you a "walking map" of things to go see. Personally, I'd like to check out the Mediterranean coast! |

a nice leisurely stroll along the ramblas heading down to the boardwalk and coast. and see everything gaudi ( specially sagrada familia). won't cost you much.
barcelona's great for walking around, up to late at night.
enjoy! |

Well
 |
Go walk the entire length of the Ramblas and back, but hold on tight to your wallet. Barcy has so many pickpockets and you don't want to involuntarily donate your budgeted funds to them. |
