If you were born in Spain , You are considered a Spanish Citizen, But when you become 18 you either Have to choose to be American or Spanish, If you decide to be American, America will only recognise that you are American, and if you choose to be Spanish, Spain will recognise you as Dual Citizen.

Ojos Azul Claro
If your parents registered your birth in Spain then you are a Spanish citizen. But being 18 you can hold dual nationality with whichever country you grew up in.

I´ve been born in Spain and living here for 31 years, (yes, that´s my age now) next year I´m moving to the US and I´ll get a dual nationality.

i don't know, but because the parents are not Spanish, i don't think s/he is considered as a Spanish citizen. depend on what the law says

My sister was born in Spain on a military base while my father was stationed there. After living in Spain for 7 years they moved back to the US. When she turned 18, she had to decide if she wanted to be a citizen of Spain or a US citizen. I don't know if that still applies b/c that was about 15yrs ago.

iluvbarcelona2327
I´m an American livin in Spain and had my 2nd daughter here.
We´re both residence and Spain refused to recognize her as a Spaniard!!although it was not of importance to me cause I prefer her to be an American!!!So if you are a resident!!your child is not a citizen!!!
