If want to move to Spain, how long can I stay without a visa?
I traveled there for study abroad, and fell in love with it, and I would really love to move back and work! What can I do so that I can move there and stay legally? Additional Details I fogot to mention... I am a U.S resident. How long does it take to apply for the NIE number? Thanks so much!
Your visa is for 3 months. Getting a NIE, is a time-consuming process, lots of standing in line and can be costly. It's really not the best time to immigrate unless you have a contract before coming and have a needed skill. If a company helps you out it could take as little time as a year. BTW even getting married to someone from here doesn't speed up the process! LOL

A visa all depends on your country of origin...If you are native to any of the EEC countries you don't need one... If you are from any other country, you will first need a tourist visa, then once you have arrived in Spain apply for a residents permit, an NIE identification number, and once you have those, start looking for a job and get a work permit...
Good Luck!
Check out your local or closest spanish consulate/embassy for more details..

for as long as you want to.the catch is that you won't practically exist (you won't be able to open a bank account, credit, etc). You can get by teaching English as a second language (either on your own or for a language school). Many friends have done this.
good luck

unfortunately you don't say where you're coming from, depending
from where you coming you will require a visa. If you're a resident from within the European community there is no problem you can enter Spain and work legally otherwise you must have a visa and working permit for Spain.
Visas can be applied to at the Spanish Embassy or Consulate in one's residence town.
