A flamenco show is a must see! I have been both to Corral de la Moreria and Casa Patas, they are both awesome but unique in their own right. Moreria is a bit pricier but it is extremely intimate and they have a variety of showtimes and food to order. As for things to do during your days in Madrid I would suggest the El Palacio Real (Royal Palace) and El Prado (Museum). You're bound to pass through El Puerto del Sol and that is worth hanging out in along with Plaza Mayor. Grab lunch or tapas in either of these places and you'll fall in love with the view. Madrid is an awesome city with loads and loads to do! Good luck! |

All the things mentioned are must sees. You will also want to walk through Retiro park which is near the Prado Museum. I thought it was cool to go check out the Bull Arena which is out at metro stop ventas. You will also want to check out the amazing hams hanging at the Museo de Jamon. They also have cheap beer and Jamon, which I thought was great.
These are all things I would recommend to the many students we send to learn Spanish through:

Parque del Retiro, Palacio Real, Prado, and maybe, if you're into it, the Museo de la Reina SofĂa (modern art) or the Thyssen Bournemazso (mixed periods of art). Or, if it's Sunday, and you have the cash, Real Madrid might be in town...but the tickets are pricey!
Plaza Mayor is neat...if only for the history.
I don't know...I probably wouldn't spend much more than that, anyway, except that Madrid is so central, that it makes a good base for exploring some other parts of the area. |
