Madrid is on the plateau, and it actually stays fairly cool in the early mornings, but warms up to quite hot by noon. There are some places she(you?) may be going that are cooler, and some are downright unbearably hot! You don't want to show too much skin in the city, especially Madrid.

You should be able to link up to other pages and see the shoes, tops, skirts, etc. Shoes, I don't think you will really see that many American styles. They have their own flair, and I was there last summer, and didn't even feel comfortable taking my good shoes out of the suitcase. I just went with tennies, on the assumption that no matter what, they were going to know I was American, I might as well be comfortable. But if she's there for long enough to warrant it, she might want to buy a pair or two while there. |

O.k they were jeans tight not bell bottoms or boot leg but skinny jeans, you need good shoes they love American brands very big over there is PUMA, GUESS, and Tommy hilfigure a tank top witha ny brand loggo and some levis jean and you'll be the talk of the town.
O.K now for the people they are very friendly and curios over there about Americans but they also think American are show offs an arogant not everybody but some do so be nice and friendly and they will come to you take you out and you'll have all the cute guys all over you. |

I went there last summer, make sure you say excuse when walking through a crowd or people will intentionally be rude to you, if you go to a street vendor person....BARGIN, stay with your group its easy to get lost in some cities, make sure you know the basic spanish and you should be fine.
what to wear, well for the day jeans and nice tops or casual/ semiformal should be good, it gets kinda hot to just be comfortable, a good thing to do is layer because it can be cool int he morning and evenings. have fun!! |
