US? I was told that though my passport had 6 months and two weeks from my departure date, and 5.5 months on my return date, that I should get a new one. TWO WEEKS on the 6 month rule!!! and the six month rule is supposed to be on your departure date.
Still, I decided, that since everyone was warning me about this (relatively new rule), including the AAA, and passport office, I was only going to need it six months later, anyway. Might as well just be safe. I recommend the same.
I was going to Spain, too.
And, btw, your city of destination is irrelevant. It's about getting on that first plane leaving the country, and getting back into the country. The COUNTRY of travel has some bearing on the rule, but the city matters not. |
